Why did my fonts change?
A PDF may embed only part of a font or use a typeface that is not installed on your device. Word then substitutes the closest available font, which can change line breaks and spacing.
Why did my table move?
PDF tables are stored as positioned page elements rather than editable rows and columns. Complex borders, merged cells and multi-column layouts can therefore shift when reconstructed in Word.
Can scanned PDFs become editable?
Yes, but image-only pages need optical character recognition first. OCR creates a text layer that can then be converted and edited, although names, numbers and tables should always be checked.
Why does a PDF look different in Word?
PDF fixes content to page coordinates, while Word reflows content using paragraphs, styles and page settings. Small differences in fonts, margins or object anchoring can alter the result.
